Tacktick developed Tacktick stand-alone instruments specifically for sports
and keel boats, and are world leaders in instrumentation for this sector
of our sport. Instruments in the Master Range are fully portable. Installation
couldn’t be easier, and afterwards you can take them home with you.
Just before you go sailing, simply snap each one into position.They’re
all easy to use, requiring the minimum of buttonpushing. And they’re
powered for life by the environment, simple, lightweight, and easy to
read from either side when hiking.They have 2-level backlighting with
automatic daylight shut-off.They’re waterproof, of course, to 10m,
and will even float with their bracket attached.
Race Master is the ultimate tactical race compass and
windshift indicator. Its two-tier display shows your heading, how far
you’re above or below the mean course, and how much you’re
being headed or lifted. It will enable you to establish quickly and easily
which is the favoured end of the start line, and will help you sail the
shortest distance to the windward mark. Downwind, you can see how far
off dead downwind you are, and when you should gybe for optimal VMG.
The instrument includes an integrated fluxgate compass and a race timer
with synchronisation feature. It’s sealed and self-contained.There
are no wires or connections to make.
Speed Master comes with two transducers, and gives boatspeed,
maximum speed, depth, distance, trip distance, and race timer. Its large
twin displays provide an instant picture of speed, to 0.01 of a knot,
on the upper line, and depth on the lower one. Speed trim is displayed
on the bar graph to the side, indicating percentage changes as you shift
weight or adjust a sail.
How far can you creep inshore to get out of the tide? Or with a favourable
tide, are you in the deepest, fastest water?
With Speed Master, there’s no more guessing.There’s even an
audible alarm for shallow water.
Speed Master mounts on your mast or bulkhead, and is
easy to calibrate. Use in conjunction with Race Master for a continuous
display of heading, windshifts, speed, trim and depth. Sail Master is
a unique 3-in-1 instrument that combines heading, boatspeed and depth
in one simple dual-display unit. Like Speed Master, it comes with two
transducers and includes a race timer, but it also incorporates a fluxgate
compass. So it’s a brilliant solution not just for sports and keel
boats, but also for trailer sailers with minimal power supplies.
Like all Tacktick’s displays it’s powered for life by a solar
cell and integrated battery, and powers down automatically after 10 minutes
without motion. Apart from the connections to the speed and depth transducers,
there are no wires.
It shows heading on the upper line of the display, and speed to 0.01 of
a knot on the line below. Depth is shown graphically to the side, with
numeric depth pop-up and audible alarm in shallow water.The unit is simple
to calibrate, and is automatically damped to compensate for sea-state.
