Warning!

Never use shackles for overhead lifting or the lifting of people or objects over people.  Always use a minimum safety factor of two or greater*!  Use spike or fid to open trigger type shackles.  Do not open with finger.   Always clean and inspect hardware for corrosion or damage before use. 

*  No product should be used at more than half the breaking load.  For many applications, a higher safety factor than two should be used.   It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that an adequate factor of safety is used.
