About Gottifredi Maffioli
Since 1954, when Maffioli supplied the Italian expedition to the top of the K2, thier name is linked to great sports challenges. During the last years Maffioli products went aboard the most celebrated boats, racing regattas such as the America's Cup, the Admiral's Cup, the Sardinia Cup, the Route du Rhum, the Whitbread and the Aroundalone, just to give a few examples.
Maffioli Swiftcord:
Initially designed for Olympic Class sailors, this product has soon become a favourite for many crews of one-design keel boats. Its unique construction, which combines the outstanding performance of Dyneema and the comfy grip of a special non-slip fibre, makes it a perfect synthesis of strength, durability, light weight and great handling comfort. It does not kink and it runs through block cleanly every time. Swiftcord is recommended for any line that is adjusted frequently by hand.

About Samson Ropes
Samson has been recognized as the leader in developing and manufacturing braided ropes. Today, Samson engineers are using the same Nylon and Polypropylene fibers together with newer developments in fiber technology like Kevlar, and HMWPE fibers like Spectra, Dyneema and Technora.
Samson Recommendations:
Working Loads: Working loads are the loads that a rope is subjected to in everyday activity. They are normally expressed as a percentage of new rope strength and should not exceed 10%. A point to remember is that a rope may be severely overloaded or shock loaded in use without breaking. However, damage and strength loss may have occurred without any visible indication. The next time the rope is used under normal working loads the acquired weakness causes it to break. Do not blame the rope, it was simply overloaded and failed from what is known as fatigue.
Winching Lines: Braided rope can develop a twist when constantly used on a winch. This makes handling more difficult and the rope should be relaxed and rotated in the opposite direction to remove a twist. To avoid this condition the direction of turns over the winch should be alternated regularly.

About Yale Cordage
At Yale Cordage, sailing is more than a pastime. It's an obsession. Yale thinks about rope. Yale talks about rope. And every single day of the year, Yale works to develop the best, most advanced ropes in the industry. Ropes so advanced they're found at every level of the sailing spectrum — from pond-skimming dinghies to globe-circumnavigating trimarans — and everywhere in between.
Yale Cordage for Racing Sailboats: When most people look at a racing sailboat, they see speed, grace and teamwork. Yale, sees a living laboratory, where rope is exposed to dynamics rarely — if ever — experienced in other applications. That's why Yale test their racing ropes both in their labs and at sea, where reliable performance can define the difference between victory — and everything else.
Yale Cordage for Cruising Sailboats: When you're at sea, you put a lot of faith in the integrity of your gear. That's why Yale design all their ropes to outperform even the highest expectations. So when you rig your pride and joy with Yale ropes, take heart.
