About Lewmar Hatches
Lewmar hatches are manufactured from the highest quality materials under approved manufacturing methods. Rigorous tests are applied to all products to ensure performance, including adhesive testing, ISO and the European Recreational Craft directive tests, and quality checks.
 Lewmar Low Profile Hatch: The curved upper frame profile provides soft fluid styling and adds strength. New friction hinges are used to support the lid without a friction lever on sizes 00 to 41. On all sizes they reduce the free fall on the lid once it is opened past 95°. Improved friction lever performance has resulted in fewer friction levers being required on larger hatches to hold the lid open, increasing visibility through the hatch. The outside handles are lower profile and restyled.
Flush Hinge: Hinges flush with upper frame.
Improved Lower Frame Design: Improved stronger lower frame design with higher breakwater. The cut out in the deck is to Lewmar's standard sizes.
 Lewmar Medium Profile Hatch: Now, completing Lewmar's extensive hatch range, comes the Medium Profile hatch. It's got Lewmar's unique seal system, it's CE approved, and it's got all the strength of our famous Ocean hatches. What's more, it fits the same cut-out sizes as the Ocean and Low Profile hatches.
The Medium Profile hatch has identical styling to the Low Profile whilst greater strength is provided by thicker acrylic and deeper frame sections. It is ideal as a foredeck hatch on larger offshore yachts. Like the Low Profile hatch the Medium Profile has a user-replaceable acrylic lid. Should the lid be damaged, all it takes is a few hand tools and half an hour before the boat can set out to sea again.
 Lewmar Ocean Hatch Options: Ocean hatches come with flat or flanged lower frames to cover all installation requirements.
Handles: The handles are made from glass filled nylon. On larger hatches there is an external handle and a locking button inside. The external handle is designed to fail if it is forced when the hatch is locked, leaving the boat secure.
Ocean Hatch Vent Position: The handles close against the catch blocks on the lower frame to shut the hatch. The catch blocks have a second position allowing the lid to be secured slightly ajar. This provides all the security of the fully shut position while allowing an air flow. The upper frame overlaps the lower frame breakwater preventing rain from entering the boat.
Acrylic & Frame Color Options: For boat builders ordering large volumes. Acrylic can be provided in clear, bronze and the standard smoke grey. Frames can be provided in black anodized, white powder coated, shiny anodized or the standard silver anodized.
High Lower Frame Breakwater: The inverted ''J'' profile reduces the amount of water entering the boat when the hatch is open.
Friction Levers: Hold the lid open in any position up to 95° and mechanically attach the acrylic to the frame.
Trim kits & Fly screens: These trim kits come complete with trim and fly screen to provide an easy and stylish way to finish off a hatch installation. They are installed inside the cabin and fit the lower frame on flanged hatches.
