Flying Scot Sailboat Parts and Sailing Equipment
Class Description
Over forty years of sailing and marine construction experience produced the Flying Scot, a Sailing Hall of Fame design. This 19 foot, stable center-boarder is easy-to-sail, forgiving and fun The Flying Scot can be single-handed, raced with a crew of two or three, or can accommodate up to 8 people in the cockpit. It's versatility makes it great for racing as well as family daysailing. The Flying Scot's competitive one-design fleet makes for tight, tactical racing. Designed in 1957 by the internationally famous racer Gordon K. "Sandy" Douglass, each Flying Scot is hand-crafted with the highest quality materials and methods. The first Scot ever built still wins races! The popularity of the Flying Scot is driven by a large sailing community and devoted one-design sailing association, and the boat has been used in several national youth and adult championships.
