Propellers are the primary connection between your engine and the water, similar to tires connecting a car's engine. Therefore, which propeller(s) you select to join is critical to achieving optimum boat performance. Even if you are on a sailboat powered by wind force, the propeller is an essential part of your marine equipment, and it should be chosen carefully.
Matching the propeller to your application, whether water skiing, cruising, or performance, maximizes the power from your engine and increases every phase of performance: handling, riding, comfort, speed, acceleration, engine life, fuel economy, and safety.
Andromeda
E3 Andromeda is the smallest of Ewol propellers. It is a cutting-edge feathering propeller made by EWOL using high-resistance stainless steel.
The orientation of the blades is fully automatic, and the micrometric setting of the pitch is performed from the outside using the adjustment ring. This optimizes the thrust during the motorized gear, providing high cruising speeds at a low number of revs and consequent reductions in fuel consumption.
It has a slim and streamlined body, and it's suitable for boats from 18 to 36 feet (6 to 11 m) and engines from 7 to 35 hp. It is available with three blades and with diameters between 10"-17", and also in different models: Sail-Drive or with Straight Shaft (20 – 30 mm / ¾ – 1 ⅛ inch ⌀)
Orion
Its core is made up of gears that allow the blades to navigate according to the fluid threads of the water while sailing and provide the correct angle of incidence during engine navigation, improving both performances under sail and the engine.
E3 Orion brilliantly solves the problem of the lack of maneuverability of the boats when reversing, especially under challenging environmental conditions such as strong winds, limited spaces, rough seas, etc.
It's suitable for boats from 30 to 60 feet (9 to 18 m) and engines from 30 to 160 hp. It is available with three blades and diameters between 13 "and -26". The propeller is made entirely of super-alloys of stainless steel that confer exceptional mechanical resistance and resistance to galvanic corrosion. You can also find blades with Titanium alloy.
E3 Orion propeller, available for both the shaft line (25 – 40 mm / 1 – 1 ½ inch ⌀) and the anti-shock device for Sail-Drive called FlexDrive, was designed to be installed, removed, and adjusted with ease in just a few minutes, even with the boat in the water.
Pegasus
E4 Pegasus was designed for large and luxurious sailing yachts, Maxi, and MiniMaxi, generally between 60-100 feet long, with an engine power of about 160-500 HP. Its large surface area covers four blades (diameters between 13 "-26"), available with a Straight Shaft (45 – 60 mm / 1 ¾ – 2 ¼ inch ⌀)
There are three versions of E4 Pegasus: Full Super-Duplex Steel, Super-Duplex with Titanium blades, or all-Titanium.
As you can see, these were some of the best propellers worldwide and are available here at MAURIPRO Sailing. If you are still looking for more reasons to get one of these Ewol propellers, here is a shortlist of the most important benefits of the Andromeda, Orion, and Pegasus series:
- Significant improvement in maneuverability.
- Increased sail speed.
- Motor speed optimization.
- Easy assembly and disassembly, even in water.
- Micrometric adjustment of the pitch from the outside.
- Very high corrosion resistance, built of stainless steel super-alloys.
